Straying Thoughts (1913) | Edmund Blair Leighton | Painting Art Print | Wall Frame
Straying Thoughts by Edmund Blair Leighton is a romantic painting of a woman in white garments, lost in her own thoughts and surrounded by nature. The soft colors and the placement of the woman in the center creates an atmosphere of peace and tranquility. The feathery cloud at the sky's edge provide an otherworldly feeling to this captivating painting.
Leighton was a fastidious craftsman, producing highly finished, decorative historical paintings. These were romanticised scenes, often of chivalry and women in medieval dress with a popular appeal. It would appear that he left no diaries, and though he exhibited at the Royal Academy for over forty years, he was never an Academician or an Associate.
